Just recently I have started on the research of the Lester's family. My grandmother was born Josephine Lester. Her parents were Joseph & Carrie Williams Lester. This is the first surname that I researched and I am still researching. Richard Shorter was born in Maryland around 1850. On December 26, 1872 Richard married Laura Ellen Young. According to one census report Laura had 12 children, but only 9 survived. On the 1880's census they were living in Washington DC and it listed 4 of Richard's siblings.
